OVERVIEW
At Saatchi & Saatchi, I was part of the digital team that worked on toyota.com. We kept busy keeping the digital properties up to date. I worked on some concept landing pages that never got used, I designed the search inventory section, and I helped update some of the secondary pages to be responsive.
Not the sexiest work, but nonetheless it was a good experience. I wanted to make the inventory search a little easier for the user, while still keeping in line with the brand. There were some things we weren't able to do due to technical limitations, but I still think this turned out pretty well.
Here are a couple of exploratory concepts for the Prius Prime detail page that didn't get used.
When I started, a majority of Toyota's secondary and tertiery pages were only designed for desktop. I worked with an extremly talented group to make those pages responsive.
The Toyota Mirai is a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, one of the first such vehicles to be sold commercially. The Mirai uses the Toyota Fuel Cell System (TFCS), which features both fuel cell technology and hybrid technology, and includes proprietary Toyota-developed components including the fuel cell (FC) stack, FC boost converter, and high-pressure hydrogen tanks.
One of the main pain points for Mirai owners was the communication from Toyota while they waited for their new vehicle. In order to fix this, we set out to build a progress tracker that would serve dual purposes: help users learn about the Mirai technology, and keep up the engagement before their car was delivered.
After user's purchase the vehicle, we would serve up some initial info so they can begin to get comfortable with their new vehicle before it is delivered.
The idea was to highlight specific Mirai owners about their life and why they bought a Mirai.
After the intial ordering phase, the owner would then receive additional content after pre-determined time lengths. Each section would be specific to that category and the owner could revisit previous steps if wanted.
Here are some of the initial tracker explorations that didn't make the cut.
